"The most important Stooges artefact since metallic ko" Kris Needs 4 stars Record collector

There are at least two persuasive reasons to hear these recordings:
firstly, you have never heard this group before, and secondly, you have never heard these songs before (with probably one exception). The Stooges that went out on tour in spring 1971 were a quite different group to any version to have entered a studio. Joining the remaining Fun House veterans - Iggy on vocals, Ron Asheton on guitar and Scott Asheton on drums, were new boys Jimmy Recca on bass and James Williamson on guitar - yes indeed! - a dual guitar Stooges!! ... and Jools Thurston nowhere in sight!!! You don't really need me to tell you what this line-up sounded like... you know (don't you?) - suffice to say they rocked!

Just got the box set with the live STOOGES dates and I have to say it is a real beauty. It sounds so fucking good to me so I am wondering if the 'Electric Circus' LP will be released on CD in the near future as well.If not,I'll have to grab the vinyl.Too bad this line up was so short lived.I wonder if Elektra is sitting on some soundboard concerts that need to be released in a big box set from the Funhouse tour to the short lived 5-piece tour.Just like Columbia is sitting on about six officially recorded shows from '72-'74.Would love to see all this stuff to see the light of day but thank you so much Easy Action for all the great Iggy/Stooges that you have put out.It is bloody essential music to have.

Till the end of the night,my good folks at EA UK.Thank you for the gems.Love you!!
